Keeping the Condenser Clean
air conditioner condenser (and engine cooling radiator) it is necessary to check periodically for the absence of adhering dirt, insect residues, leaves, etc. When removing deposits, use a brush or jet of water carefully to avoid bending the fan components.
Checking the performance of the air conditioner
1. Start the engine and let it run for several minutes at idle, while the air conditioner should operate in the maximum cooling mode.
2. If the air coming out of the vents in the instrument panel is not cold, take the car to the nearest Hyundai dealer to check the air conditioning system.
Attention! Operating the air conditioner for a long time with low refrigerant levels may damage the compressor.
Lubricant
To lubricate the compressor and seals of the air conditioning system, it is necessary to run the air conditioner for at least 10 minutes every week. This is especially important during periods of the year when the air conditioner is not in use.
Checking the A/C Compressor Drive Belt
Pic. 1.172. Checking the A/C Compressor Drive Belt
With regular use of the air conditioner, the tension of the air conditioning compressor drive belt must be checked at least once a month. To check the tension of the air conditioning compressor drive belt, press the belt in the middle between the engine crankshaft pulleys and the air conditioning compressor. When pressing the belt with your finger, its deflection should not exceed 8 mm. If you have tools to check the belt tension, then with a force of 98 N, its deflection should be approximately 8 mm.
