Using the special tool, disconnect the tie rod end ball joint from the steering knuckle (pic. 5.3).
Move the ball joint pin several times to check that there is no excessive play.

Screw the nut onto the ball joint pin, then measure the moment when the joint begins to rotate (pic. 5.4).
Rated value: 0.5 - 2.5 Nm.
If the measured value is greater than the upper limit of the nominal value, replace the tie rod end.
If the measured value is less than the lower limit of the nominal value, check for excessive play or sticking in the ball joint and replace if necessary.
