Intake manifold (2.7L engine)

Withdrawal

1. Disconnect the air intake hose from the throttle body.



2. Disconnect the accelerator pedal cable and cruise control cable.



3. Disconnect the coolant hose from the throttle body.


4. Disconnect the valve hose of the forced crankcase ventilation system and the vacuum hose of the brake booster.



5. Disconnect the vacuum hoses.

6. Remove the intake manifold reservoir support bracket.



7. Before disconnecting the high pressure fuel hose from the fuel manifold, bleed any residual pressure from the high pressure fuel lines to prevent fuel splashing.

8. Disconnect the high pressure fuel hose from the fuel manifold and the fuel return hose.


9. Remove the intake manifold reservoir and gasket.




10. Disconnect the fuel injector harness connector.



11. Remove the fuel manifold along with the injectors and fuel pressure regulator.

Caution: Be careful not to drop the injectors when removing the fuel manifold.

12. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector.


13. Remove the intake manifold assembly and gasket.

Examination

Intake manifold and receiver

1. Check the intake manifold reservoir and intake manifold for damage, cracks, or clogging of vacuum hose fittings, cooling system passages, and lubrication system passages.

2. Using a precision ruler and a flat feeler gauge, measure the warpage (flatness) mating surfaces of the intake manifold, intake manifold receiver and cylinder block.

• Rated value: 0.15mm or less
• Limit value: 0.20 mm

Installation

1. Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.

2. When installing the parts, pay attention to the intake manifold installation operation.

The intake manifold tightening sequence is shown in the figure.

Torque:

• Intake manifold mounting bolts: 19-21 Nm
• Bolts of fastening of a receiver of an inlet manifold: 15-20 Nm
