Front suspension arms.
1 - upper front suspension arm, 2 - front suspension strut assembly, 3 - strut yoke, 4 - drive shaft, 5 - front suspension anti-roll bar, 6 - front suspension lower arm, 7 - connecting element, 8 - steering knuckle complete with hub.
Withdrawal
1. Jack up the car, remove the bolts and remove the front wheel.
- Tightening torque: 90-110 Nm
2. Loosen the ball joint nut.
Note: do not unscrew the nut completely.
3. Using the special tool, disconnect the upper arm ball joint from the steering knuckle.
4. Turn away two nuts and remove the top lever of a forward suspension bracket in gathering.
- Tightening torque: 80-100 Nm
5. Turn away bolts and remove fastenings of the lever.
- Tightening torque: 55-65 Nm
Examination
1. Check bushing for wear and damage.
2. Check the upper front suspension arm for bends or other damage.
3. Check the ball joint boot for cracks. If the protective boot is cracked, replace the boot with grease.
4. Check up the moment of stragivaniye of a finger of a spherical support of the lever.
- A) Shake the ball joint pin a few times, check for excessive play.
- b) Screw a self-locking nut onto the ball joint pin and use a torque wrench to measure the breakaway torque.
- Rated value: 1.5-2.5 Nm
- V) If the breakout torque is greater than the upper limit of the rated value, replace the upper arm assembly.
- G) If the breakaway torque is less than the lower limit of the nominal value, then the use of a ball joint is allowed if there is no wear on the ball joint.
Installation
Installation of the front suspension lower arm is carried out in the reverse order of removal, the tightening torques of the bolts and nuts are indicated in the text of the description of the removal procedure and in the assembly drawing "Lower arm front suspension".
