Read the fault codes generated by the automatic transmission self-diagnosis system. Then troubleshoot according to table 3.13.
Note. To working memory (RAM) A maximum of 8 diagnostic trouble codes can be recorded in the electronic control unit (in the order they appear).
Note. If a fault code appears repeatedly, it will be stored in memory only once.
Note. If the number of recorded DTCs or malfunction conditions (diagnostic trouble patterns) exceeds 8, the previously recorded fault codes will be deleted from the memory in sequence, starting from the earliest.
Note. Do not disconnect the battery before reading diagnostic trouble codes or fault conditions (diagnostic trouble patterns), since if the battery is disconnected, they will be deleted from the memory of the electronic control unit.
If the system has switched to emergency control mode and the gearbox is fixed in 3rd gear (gear shift blocked), then into the working memory (RAM) The ECM records a diagnostic trouble code in the form of an emergency operation code. A total of three such fault codes can be stored in memory.
If the gearbox only works in third gear (gear shift blocked) and the ignition key is turned to position «OFF» («Off»), the emergency operation will be canceled (cancellation), but diagnostic trouble codes will be stored in RAM (RAM) electronic control unit.
Storing information in memory (memorization)
A maximum of 8 diagnostic trouble codes and 3 emergency operation parameters can be stored in memory.
If the memory capacity does not allow new information to be written, then instead of the DTCs and emergency operation parameters stored in the memory, new ones will be overwritten in sequence, starting from the earliest.
The same fault code cannot be stored in memory more than once.
Automatic deletion of fault codes from memory (Automatic deletion)
All diagnostic trouble codes are automatically deleted from memory after the temperature of the oil in the automatic transmission (ATF) reaches 50°C within 200 times after the last fault code is stored in memory.
Forced deletion of fault codes from memory (Forced deletion)
Stored diagnostic trouble codes can be cleared using a tester if the following conditions are met:
- ignition key in position «ON»;
- no signals found (impulses) from the crankshaft position sensor;
- no signals found (impulses) from the gearbox output shaft speed sensor;
- no signals found (impulses) from the vehicle speed sensor;
- emergency operation is not enabled.
