Main power relay of the engine management system

When the ignition is turned on, battery power is supplied to the engine control unit, injectors, absolute pressure sensor, etc. With the ignition on, the ignition switch circuit is connected to «weight» through the winding of the main power relay.

Examination

1. Check the continuity of the relay contacts on pins 5 («+») and 1 («-»).

Relay winding (pins 2 and 4)	Circuit status
Winding off	No conduction
Winding included	There is conductivity

2. If the relay is defective, replace it. Tightening torque: 7–11 Nm.
