Diesel engine start
Starting a cold engine
turn the key «ignition» into position «ON» and wait until the preheating indicator lamp. Turn on the starter and start the engine.
Starting a warm engine
Turn on the starter. If the engine does not start, try again after a few seconds, after waiting until the end of the preheating.
Normal condition
The sequence of actions when starting the engine:
- 1. Insert the key into the lock «ignition» and fasten your seat belt.
- 2. Fully depress the clutch pedal and place the shift lever in neutral (in a car with a manual transmission) or set the automatic transmission selector lever to position «R» (Parking).
- 3. Install the key «ignition» into position «ON» and before starting the engine, make sure that all control lamps and indicators are working.
- 4. For diesel vehicles, install the key «ignition» into position «ON». At the same time, the yellow preheating control lamp lights up and goes out after a short time, which indicates the end of the preheating.
Note: If the engine does not start after 10 seconds after the end of the preheating, repeat the preheating cycle by installing the key «ignition» into position «LOCK», then to position «ON».
Warning: When starting a vehicle with a manual transmission, fully depress the clutch pedal. If the clutch is not completely disengaged, the vehicle may jerk forward or backward, which could cause injury to people in or outside the vehicle.
- 5. Turn the ignition key to position «START» and release it as soon as the engine starts.
