The ride must be smooth. Accelerate sharply. Don't budge «jump» or with the accelerator pedal depressed to the floor, maintain a constant speed. Don't race from traffic light to traffic light. Try to maintain the speed of the traffic flow and then you will not have to change speed unnecessarily. If possible, try not to get into a dense stream of traffic. Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles at all times, which will save you from frequent braking and reduce brake wear.
Maintain a moderate speed. The higher the speed, the greater the fuel consumption. Driving at a moderate speed, especially on highways, is one of the most effective means of reducing fuel consumption.
Do not keep your foot on the brake or clutch pedal. This leads to increased fuel consumption and accelerated wear of these systems. In addition, the brakes will overheat and become ineffective if the pedal is constantly depressed, which can cause more serious consequences.
Check the condition of the tires. Maintain the required pressure in them. Excessive or insufficient tire pressure causes their accelerated wear. Check tire pressure at least once a month.
Make sure the wheel alignment is correct. Misalignment may be caused by hitting a curb or driving over rough ground. Incorrect wheel alignment causes accelerated tire wear, as well as other negative phenomena, including increased fuel consumption.
Keep your vehicle in good condition. To reduce fuel consumption and maintenance costs, carry out vehicle maintenance within the time and scope specified in Section 5.
Keep your vehicle clean. To maximize the life of your vehicle, keep it clean and protected from corrosion at all times. It is especially important to remove dirt, ice, etc., adhering to the underbody, which make the car heavier, which increases fuel consumption and contributes to corrosion.
Do not overload the vehicle. Do not carry unnecessarily large loads. This will increase fuel consumption.
Avoid excessively long engine idling. If you are waiting for someone or something (not being in traffic), stop the engine and start it just before resuming movement.
Remember that your Hyundai engine does not require a long warm-up. You can start moving as soon as it starts to work steadily. However, in very cold weather, the warm-up time should be slightly increased.
Do not overload the engine with low or excessively high speeds. Engine overload at low speed occurs when driving at low speed in too high a gear. If this happens, shift to a lower gear. To prevent excessively high engine speeds, change gears at the above speeds in a timely manner.
Use the air conditioner in a way that consumes some of the engine power, which will reduce fuel efficiency.
Correct cornering
When cornering, avoid braking or shifting gears, especially on wet roads. Ideally, cornering should always be done with smooth acceleration. By following these tips, you will minimize tire wear.
