Release bearing fittings (models since 2000)
1 - release bearing;
2 - nut;
3 - lever;
4 - clutch release fork;
5 - clutch drive (basket);
6 - clutch driven disc.
Withdrawal
Remove the gearbox.
Depress the retaining spring and remove the release bearing.
Examination
Compress and at the same time turn the release bearing. If the bearing does not turn smoothly, it should be replaced. The bearing is permanently lubricated and should not be cleaned or lubricated.
The bearing should also be replaced if there is significant wear at the points of contact with the fork.
Installation
Put special molybdenum grease into the groove under the release bearing (arrows).
Apply grease to the contact surfaces of the release fork.
Insert and secure the release bearing with a retaining spring.
Install the gearbox.
