Note: The idle speed is set at the factory with the idle speed screw.
Check:
- that the spark plugs, injectors, idle speed control are in good order;
- that the compression in the cylinders is in the required range.
Warm up the engine to normal coolant temperature.
Connect the tester to the diagnostic socket (16 pin).
Remove the plug from the base ignition timing adjustment connector.
With clamp wire «crocodile» (1) connect to ground the output of the connector (2) adjustment of the basic ignition timing.
Start the engine and leave it to idle.
Check the idle speed of the crankshaft. Rated value 800±50 rpm.
If the idle speed differs from the nominal value, then adjust them by turning the idle speed adjustment screw (SAS).
If the idle speed is higher than the nominal even with the adjusting screw fully tightened, then check if the paint on the throttle lever stop screw is damaged (those. Has it been previously adjusted?). If the paint is damaged, adjust the position of the throttle lever stop screw.
Turn the ignition key to the OFF position (OFF).
Disconnect the wire with the clamp «crocodile» from the ignition timing controller output and reset the connector.
Start the engine and let it idle for 10 minutes. Check that the engine is running normally.
