1. Park the vehicle on a level floor.
2. Before removing the oil dipstick, wipe the area around it from dirt.
3. After setting the shift lever, transfer to the position "R" and applying the parking brake, start the engine.
4. The engine must be running at idle. Fluid must be at normal operating temperature (80-90°C).
5. Sequentially move the shift lever to all positions to fill the torque converter and hydraulic system with fluid, then set the lever to neutral N. This must be done to be sure that the fluid level is detected correctly.
6. Make sure the fluid level is in the '"NOT" oil measuring rod. If the fluid level is low, add automatic transmission fluid until the level reaches the "NOT".
Simultaneously with checking the liquid level, it is necessary to check its condition. If the fluid has a burning smell and is contaminated with metal particles or friction material particles, a complete check of the transmission is necessary.
