DOHC engine oil pump

Withdrawal

1. Remove the toothed belt.

2. Turn out all bolts of fastening of the oil pallet.

3. Remove the oil pan.

4. Turn out 2 bolts and remove the mesh oil filter with an oil receiving pipe.

5. Remove the front cover.

6. Remove the oil pump cover.



7. Remove the inner and outer gears of the oil pump from the front cover, after noting their relative position.


8. Turn out a stopper and remove a spring and a plunger.

Examination

1. Check the oil pan for cracks or damage and replace if necessary.

2. Check the oil filter for cracks or damage and replace if necessary.

3. Check the front cover for wear or damage where it contacts the oil pump gears and replace if necessary.

4. Check the oil pump gear teeth for wear or damage.



5. Use a feeler gauge to measure the clearance between the oil pump gear and the socket in the cover.

Maximum permissible clearance of the external gear of the oil pump: 0.12–0.18 mm



6. Use a feeler gauge to measure the gap between the oil pump gears.

Maximum permissible gap between the teeth of the gears of the oil pump: 0.001–0.003 mm




7. Using a metal ruler and feeler gauge, measure the backlash of the oil pump gears.

Maximum permissible side clearance of the oil pump rotors: 0.04–0.085 mm

Installation

Oil pump

1. Install the outer and inner gears of the oil pump in the front cover, after aligning the previously applied marks.

2. Install the oil pump cover and secure it with bolts. After tightening the bolts, check that the gears turn easily and smoothly.

Tightening torque: 6–8 Nm



3. Install the safety valve, spring and wrap the plug, tightening it to the required torque. Lubricate the relief valve with engine oil before installation.

Tightening torque: 40–50 Nm
